Reflectivity rules
Colorado limits window tint reflectivity to 27% maximum. Mirror or chrome-finish tint is not permitted. Polar Tint installs non-metallic Nano Ceramic film, well below the reflectivity limit.
Medical exemptions
Colorado Department of Revenue issues medical exemption permits for tint below 27% VLT. Process:
- Physician statement specifying medical need (lupus, photodermatitis, etc.)
- Submit application + fee to CO Department of Revenue
- Receive exemption sticker
- Bring permit to Polar Tint at install

Front Range climate considerations
Colorado altitude UV is materially higher than at sea level. Polar Tint Nano Ceramic film blocks 99% UV at every VLT, including the 70% VLT. Pair tint with ceramic coating on paint for full UV protection.
Enforcement
Colorado State Patrol enforces tint law. A modest moving-violation fine applies. Citation requires removal or re-inspection before clearing.
