Yes. Nevada allows a medical exemption: you apply in writing to the Nevada Highway Patrol (Department of Public Safety) using its Application for Window Tint Exemption, with a sworn statement from your treating physician, and the approved exemption must be kept in the vehicle. The exemption covers only the vehicles on the application and isn't transferable if you sell the vehicle. The form states that no exemption below 20% VLT will be approved. Once approved, we can install film to the specs on your exemption.

Generally yes for passenger compartments. Commercial trucks and vans with no rear side passenger windows (cargo vans) have more flexibility. Polar Tint advises on a case-by-case basis.

OEM rear glass tint is privacy-tinted glass, not film. It doesn't count against the VLT limit — Polar Tint can add Nano Ceramic film on top, and the combined darkness can be ANY level on rear sides in Nevada, as long as the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides.

No. Aftermarket window tint does not void any major manufacturer warranty. Tint installed correctly works around defroster grids without damage; that's covered by the Polar Tint Promise.

No. Polar Tint doesn't keep your vehicle overnight on routine automotive installs. Full Vehicle PPF and paint correction + ceramic builds run longer; your installer confirms exact timing with your written quote at booking.

You can, but most customers prefer to drop and return. The waiting area has chargers and Wi-Fi. Installs are not in a customer-viewing bay — there's no benefit to staying.

Same-week is usually possible. Saturdays book fastest — schedule a week ahead for Saturday slots. Mondays are also high-volume. Specific high-end vehicles or full-vehicle builds may need 2 weeks.

Automotive tint and PPF are in-shop only at 799 Middlegate Rd (dust-controlled environment required). Residential and commercial window film IS installed on-site at customer homes and offices.

Polar Tint shops are climate-controlled, so the install itself is year-round. The post-install cure window is 3-5 days — easier in warmer weather but Polar Tint installs all year.

We stand behind your window film and our installation work with the Polar Tint Promise. Failures covered: bubbling, fading, purpling, peeling, delamination, cracking, install defects. Damage caused by misuse or third-party action is not covered. Window film also carries the manufacturer's lifetime warranty for the life of the vehicle, home, or building. Anti-graffiti film is the exception: the film carries the manufacturer's warranty, and the Promise covers its installation.

Hand-wash with PPF-safe soap. Avoid automatic brush washes (rotating brushes can lift edges). Touchless laser-jet washes are OK after the 48-hour cure window.

Independent shops can be excellent — many premium tint installers are independent. The differences: (1) Polar Tint installs only premium Nano Ceramic film, no dyed budget tier. (2) Polar Tint Promise covers the original owner and does not transfer; if your original Polar Tint location closes, the nearest Polar Tint location handles your claim. (3) Network of locations means consistent service. Trade-off: independents may offer cheaper dyed-film options that Polar Tint doesn't sell. We won't compete on dyed film.

Material cost. Premium Nano Ceramic film uses nano-particle construction with non-metallic IR-rejecting compounds. Carbon film is cheaper carbon-pigmented vinyl. Dyed film is the cheapest — dye in adhesive. The price-per-square-foot difference is real and reflects what's inside the film. Polar Tint installs ceramic exclusively because dyed film fails the warranty math.

Dealer-installed tint is usually subcontracted to a third-party installer the dealer has a contract with. Quality varies. Polar Tint Henderson is a specialist shop — we only do film and paint protection. Most premium-vehicle owners come to Polar Tint after a poor dealer install, which we remove and re-install. If your dealer offers tint, ask which shop they subcontract to.

We install it so it stays out of those cameras' view. Tesla autopilot and other ADAS (forward collision warning, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking) use cameras mounted INSIDE the windshield — they look out through the camera area at the top of the windshield. The only windshield film we install is the legal top strip, and we don't put film over camera arrays or sensor housings, so that camera area stays clear. Side and rear window film isn't in front of those windshield cameras, and Polar Tint Nano Ceramic is non-metallic.

Yes — but Polar Tint doesn't replace windshields. We install tint on existing glass. ADAS calibration is required after windshield REPLACEMENT (which is done at glass shops, not film shops). Tint film install does not trigger ADAS recalibration.
