Quick answer

What is ceramic window tint?

Ceramic window tint is a non-metallic film built to block infrared heat at the glass. Polar Tint installs three Nano Ceramic grades in Las Vegas: Premium Ceramic (up to 70% IR rejection), Ceramic Plus (up to 90%) and Ceramic Ultimate Plus (up to 98%). Every grade blocks 99% of UV and is designed not to interfere with phone, GPS or keyless signals.

You can start a quote from home with the year, make, model and a few photos. A certified installer then checks the factory glass in person and confirms the Nevada-legal shade for the front windows before the install.

Three Nano Ceramic grades

Compare the ceramic grades.

Both Las Vegas shops carry the same three grades. The deciding spec is infrared rejection; shade is picked separately.

GradeInfrared (IR) heat rejectionUV blockedShade (VLT) options
Premium Ceramic (Good)Up to 70% IR99%5%, 15%, 35%, 50%
Ceramic Plus (Better)Up to 90% IR99%5%, 15%, 35%, 50%, 70%
Ceramic Ultimate Plus (Best)Up to 98% IR99%5%, 15%, 35%, 50%, 70%

“98% IR rejection” means up to 98% of the infrared portion of sunlight, not 98% of all the heat. The whole-spectrum figure is TSER (total solar energy rejected), shown in the table below for each shade.

These readings are the film alone. Your on-car reading is lower because the factory glass adds darkness, so the shop picks the shade for your vehicle and Nevada’s limit by measuring. Measured values are from the film manufacturer’s spec sheets.

Pick your grade

Which ceramic grade fits how you drive and park?

  • Premium Ceramic for a car that is garaged overnight and parks in shade most of the day.
  • Ceramic Plus for a daily commute where the car sits outside for part of the day and 90% IR rejection can help keep the steering wheel from getting too hot to touch.
  • Ceramic Ultimate Plus for all-day outdoor parking, big rear glass on full-size SUVs and the panoramic roofs on Tesla Model 3, Model Y and Model S.

The detailed grade breakdown and local notes are on the Summerlin ceramic window tint and Spring Valley Ranch ceramic window tint pages. For every car tint service in one place, see car window tinting in Las Vegas.

Why ceramic

Why ceramic instead of dyed or metallized film?

Sunlight is roughly 53% infrared (the radiant heat you feel), 44% visible light and 3% ultraviolet. Dyed or carbon film rejects less infrared heat than ceramic, and metallized film blocks cell signal, GPS and keyless entry. Polar Tint does not install dyed or metallized film.

Nevada requires at least 35% VLT on the front side windows, measured through the film and glass together. Rear side windows and the back glass can go darker when the car has outside mirrors on both sides, and only a strip across the top of the windshield is allowed. Read the Nevada window tint law guide for details.

Common questions

Ceramic window tint in Las Vegas, answered.

What is ceramic window tint?
Ceramic window tint is a non-metallic film built to block infrared heat at the glass. Polar Tint’s Nano Ceramic grades reject up to 70%, 90% or 98% of infrared and all block 99% of UV, and they are designed not to interfere with phone, GPS or keyless signals.
What is the difference between Premium Ceramic, Ceramic Plus and Ceramic Ultimate Plus?
All three are non-metallic Nano Ceramic with 99% UV rejection and the Polar Tint Promise. The difference is infrared heat rejection: up to 70% for Premium Ceramic, 90% for Ceramic Plus and 98% for Ceramic Ultimate Plus. Darkness (VLT) is chosen separately.
Can I start a ceramic tint quote with photos?
Yes. Send the year, make and model and a few photos, and either Las Vegas shop can quote remotely. An installer still checks the factory glass and the legal front-window shade in person before the install.
How much does ceramic window tint cost in Las Vegas?
Polar Tint doesn’t post a flat price, because the quote depends on real per-vehicle variables: glass count, film grade and glass shape. Film grade is usually the biggest swing, and the higher-rejection grades cost more per panel than Premium Ceramic. Every estimate is free, locally quoted and in writing.
Will ceramic tint interfere with my phone, GPS or key fob?
No. All three grades are non-metallic and designed not to interfere with cell signal, GPS, satellite radio, garage door openers or keyless entry.
